DEFINITION

When cultivated in La Roche-Posay water-containing medium, Vitroscilla Filiformis becomes a “super bacteria” named Aqua Posae Filiformis (or APF) with extra properties.

This bacterium, naturally present in very few thermal waters, has recognized properties, especially on atopic-prone skin.

WHERE DOES IT 
COME FROM?

This unique thermal bacterial extract is obtained using biotechnology. 
  • The probiotic VF bacterium is cultivated in a medium enriched with La Roche-Posay thermal spring water.
  • As the latter contains rare trace elements (e.g. selenium), they act as a booster of VF beneficial biological properties. 
  • Once boosted, it becomes the prebiotic APF.
  • APF then undergoes a fragmentation process to obtain the desired bacterial extract.

USED FOR?

A microbiome and/or physical barrier imbalance has been associated with atopic-prone skin as well as with acne-prone skin.
